Does Jihad shows Holiness or Violence?

Reader comment on item: What is Jihad?

Submitted by Lessy (Philippines), Nov 8, 2004 at 05:31

Jihad of the Muslims was said to be "holy war" because it is said to be commanded by the prophet Mohammed to the 'Kalipas' to use weapons if needed just to spread or convince the other people to be Muslims or accept being a Muslim but the question that runs in my mind is how can we call it "holy" if it is a war or if it used war or weapons to convince the people to be Muslims?
