For Ayesha: Jihad or al jihad al-Muqaddas means, and you guessed it, holy war!

You must pardon me Ayesha but I seem to be able to spot non-Arabic speakers that pretend to know the Arabic language the language of Islam and then you can see the bits and pieces of their lack of command of Arabic and in the process wishful thinking and maknig things up.

You wrote: "first misconception is Jihad means: Holy war"

This is nonsense as you shall see.

Let me get a few things out of the way:

1. Using the word: Ayesha betrays your ignorance of the Arabic language. The name Ayesha (sic) is vocalized by native Arabs as: 3A'isha!!! (you seem to be clueless about the letter 3ayn and the consonant hamza)

2. "Harb mudassah" you must use the definite article "al" before the word harb. So it must be written and vocalized as: al-harb al-muqadassah. So far I find that your command of very basic Arabic (both written and vocalized Arabic) to be very limited. And if so why are you using transliterated Arabic when you do not seem to know Arabic? Are you trying to impress us?

3. Your command of _basic_ Muslim theology is also very defective. You wrote: "Sura Baqara verse 256" Again your Arabic is very defective: This should be: "Surat al-Baqara, nimrat al-aya 256" You seem to have no clue about definite articles and the difference between a teh maftouha and marbouta. And then you have the audacity that at the end of your and you must pardon me: blah, blah blah to imply that you are some sort of scholar and you complain about us infidels and our "unresearched" writings?

Now, Muslim theologians inform us that the last revealed sura (notice that in this context it would be sura and not surat as we do not have a definite article following the word sura) is sura 9.

Based on the doctrine of al-nasikh wa al-mansukh (AKA abrogation or your Allah changing his mind) any dispensation in sura 9 will aborgate an earlier dispensation in the same subject matter.

In this case ayat al-saif or 9:5 will aborgate 2:256! So much for the no compulsion in religion.

And here is more evidence to you: your Allah tells Muslims to go out and kill the mushrikeen in ayat al-saif and to fight ahl al-kitab in 9:29 until they accept Islam! So which one should we believe my dear 3A'isha the no compulsion in religion or the kill the mushrikeen? The way out of this confusion was the doctrine of abrogation. So much for a confused book the book of your Allah that is.

So I do not buy your lame explanation.

4. Now more ignorance of the Arabic language: the word qatl means killing and not fighting as you claim. Fighting means: QITAL which is a very different word. I do not think you have any clue about the Arabic language root system!! eg: yuqaatil means he fights and yaqtul means he kills. Your command of the Arabic language is poor.

5. The word Jihad as per Rudolph Peters means: "Jihad (v.n: jaahada) means to strive, to exert oneself, to struggle. In religious context it expresses a struggle against one's evil inclinations or an exertion for the sake of Islam and the Umma as in trying to convert unbelievers or working for the moral betterment of Islamic society (jihad of the pen or jihad al-qalam). In the books of Islamic law, the word Jihad means _armed _struggle_ against_ the_ unbelievers_which_ is_ also_ a common_ meaning_ in _the_ Qur'an_"

It cannot be any clearer than this that jihad merans holy war. More later.

Then Peters writes: "Nowadays it is often equivalent to the English word crusade (gasp!!!). If used in a religious context the adjective Islamic or holy is added as in "al-jihad al-Islami" and "al-Jihad al-muqaddas"

The question now becomes who are the unbelievrs? Or those that did not believe that Abul Qasim AKA Muhammad was a prophet of God? based on 9:5 and 9:30 the unbelievrs are the Christians, the Jews, the pagans, the atheists, your own ancestors the Hindus and Buddhists and the rest on mankind. And what would be the new dispensation? it would be 9:29 or wage holy war on the unbelievers until Islam becomes the religion of all of mankind. So much for the no compulsion in religion!!

I find it very disturbing that your likes promote the religion of the Arabs that brutalized their ancestors. Remember Mahmud of Ghazni? Shame.
