In all of the many many killings of non-muslims by muslims the word screamed out is Jihad. Also shouted out is Allah Akbar. ( which means " the god of the muslims is great ".

Then the killing of the non-muslim happens.

Sometimes after the muslim has slaughtered the non-muslim he will bellow out " Jihad " and or " allah akbar ".

Hopefully this new info about muslims yelling Jihad and allah akbar before, during and after killing non-muslims will help you understand the word Jihad.
