unfortunately these days most terrorists clame that what they are doing is in the name of islam and sadly a lot of non muslims "apparently" believe that BUT if you are a non muslim just be aware that not everything you see by muslims is necessarily from ISLAM

you can never understand the truth about islam even if you are a muslim unless you study islam "at least " read a translated quran,or the prophets hadeeth in the books of "bukhari and muslim",or even read about "alkhulafa'a" the prophet's closest friends inorder to know what islam really orders mulims you do and how to live

I have a half dozen English translations of the Quran (there are many more to be sure) and once I get past Sura 1 (in an 'uncommentated' volume) I am greatly dismayed by the attitude of Allah/Mohammad toward 'the people of the Book' let alone 'infidels and idolators'. You suggest that the Sunna & Sira have, perhaps, something different (better) to offer - from what I've read, it's just more of the same - but even more assinine. Instead of telling me that I don't understand 'true Islam' - 'the Religion of Peace' - how about explaining it to me - in this thread, you must begin with JIHAD - what it really means - how it is really to be applied toward 'the people of the Book' as well as 'infidels and idolators' - reveal to all of us 'the true religion of peace' ...
