Are Muslims becoming party-poopers?

Dear Dr Pipes, If you remove Muslims from the topic of this discussion, our world is moving in a very positive direction. People are experimenting with each other's cultures/foods/religious-ideas. When they meet each other, they talk about spirituality but do not incessantly talk about their religions. In their nations, they advocate democracy and freedom of speech (at least they try to). When they fall in love with each other across the religious boundaries, they do not necessarily force either party to convert and, more often than not, create new synchretic religious traditions. They do not create countries based on religions.

The non-Muslim world is not perfect. We have problem regimes like North Korea, China, and Russia. Communism is not fully and completely dead. We have problems like drugs. We have financial crimes. We have divorces and unhappy marriages. We have financial crimes. We have poverty and we have income disparities. We have shortages and abundances. We have humans losing their livelihood to machines. We have floods and famines. But, most of our problems are shared and our solutions are also shared. Non-muslims are having a party on planet earth, if you will.

But Muslims stand apart. They self-discriminate. They do not celebrate. They isolate themselves. Or they become friends to convert. They do not share our problems and needs. Their biggest problem and need is to defend and advance Islam. They do not vote on issues. They vote on Islam. They do not support people/countries/institutions by the contents or their character. They support people/countries/institutions based on whether they are Islamic or not.

I invite Muslims all over the world to consider whether they are becoming party-poopers on the planet earth, different from everyone else, holier than everyone else, and more deserving than everyone else. Only Muslims can answer this question for themselves.
