Reader comment on item: Amazon.com's Koran Desecration Problem

Submitted by J. (United States), May 22, 2005 at 07:53

There might be more to this when it comes to threats and Basrudin's activities. If you look her up using Google on page 3 you find an abstract of a paper by her regarding the Koran and women's rights. (plus a Russian forum post by her on another website) In the paper etc. she holds that the Koran does not endorse honor killings etc..etc. (Certainly she must be an expert on the Koran..and must be familiar with its editions...) She is originally from Malaysia. It is possible that other moslems (particularly those who use the Koran to back them up when it comes to controlling women) have also threatened Basarudin. At any rate this case requires a lot of investigation.
