Koran Defacement?

Reader comment on item: Amazon.com's Koran Desecration Problem

Email to Amazon:

Amazon should under no circumstances contribute anything to MPAC or grovel any further. Amazon, as I understand this story, did nothing wrong. It is wrong, under the circumstances to even apologize.

Compare your situation to that of Wendy's and the notorious "finger". Wendy's investigated and, having found that it had done nothing wrong stood its ground. Has Amazon, or anyone on Amazon's behalf even examined the offending book? Has even a minimal investigation been made?

Again, let me stress the obvious -- Amazon did nothing wrong. It did not market the book, it did not purchase the book, it did not sell the book and it did not handle or ship the book.

Amazon should have that same minimal level of the courage to stand up for itself that Wendy's did, and should have the backbone to resist knuckling under to extortion.
