Basarudin Koran incident

Reader comment on item: Amazon.com's Koran Desecration Problem

Dear Ms Smith

I have read about the Basarudin Koran incident and your responses.
I agree religious intolerance is not to be condoned - that means intolerance towards all religions, not just Islam.
However this incident has nothing to do with intolerance; it seems this has more to do with PR and 'blackmail' and your response supports extortion.
Here however the facts are simple - a used book, an Islamist activist complains, no proof of who inscribed this 'slur' (or when), etc.
I suspect that this could this be another Wendy's 'finger in my food' but for another purpose.
The "millions for defense, not a cent for tribute" concept should apply to these types of complaints.
I urge you to rethink your response.
