Letter of Support to Mr. Roberts of Bellwether Books

Reader comment on item: Amazon.com's Koran Desecration Problem

Submitted by Mark E. Roberts (United States), May 21, 2005 at 00:05

Dear Mr. Richard Roberts,

I have learned through an e-mail article by Daniel Pipes of Amazon.com's outrageous demands on you relating to the Koran incident.

I've let Patty Smith at Amazon know that I believe its actions are nothing less than pusillanimous (had to look up the spelling!) and, if continued, a genuine threat to freedom of trade and speech for all of us.

I've reviewed your feedback at amazon.com and admire the essentially perfect score your business earns.

Don't give in to the insanity. I am confident that almost every American who learns of your situation will feel as I do--in full support of you and your company.

With every good wish,

Mark E. Roberts, Ph.D.
