A Shakedown is Offensive & Criminal

Reader comment on item: Amazon.com's Koran Desecration Problem

Submitted by Paul Saunders (United States), May 20, 2005 at 17:04

Dear Ms. Smith,

I was saddened to hear that Amazon is undergoing a shakedown operation by the Muslim Public Affairs Council (MPAC) because allegedly one bigot wrote in a Koran sent out by an Amazon subsidiary bookstore.

The MPAC Islamist radicals have learned well from Jesse Jackson and his corporate shakedown operations on Wall Street.

Step 1 in the Jackson shakedown operation is to find an event that they claim offended them
Step 2 is to contact the media to proclaim how offended their minority group is.
Step 3 is, during the Step 2 media event, attack a large corporate organization with deep pockets in order to extort funds from that corporation from its liberal-guilt-ridden corporate or HR leadership.
Step 4 is to take the money extorted and use it to stage the next "I'm offended" events.

"Being offended" is not in the criminal or moral law of America and Amazon has no obligation to apologize for what one bigot (if there even was a bigot) wrote in a used book. If Amazon let's MPAC get away with this shakedown, it will be casting blood upon shark-infested waters. Neither Amazon nor any other corporation will be safe from an unending string of these shakedown events by radical organizations. The "I'm offended" manufacturing line can run at incredibly fast speeds once a willing victim is detected.

This is America, not Pakistan. Radical Muslims in Pakistan pushed through anti-blasphemy laws so that they could use them to persecute their enemies, Christians and Jews. MPAC is using the "I'm offended" mantra just as Pakistani radicals use the anti-blasphemy laws. Pakistan's anti-blasphemy laws are remnants of the 9th century European Dark Ages and have no meaning in First Amendment America despite MPAC's and CAIR's backdoor attempt to institute them here.

I urge you and the Amazon leadership to recognize that you are the victims of a shakedown attempt by a radical Muslim organization and act to stop that crime from succeeding.
