What terrorists want is the same as what Islamists want

Reader comment on item: What Do Terrorists Want? [A Caliphate and Shari'a]

Let's get real people.

Is there any Islamic society in the world today that practices peace and tolerance to non-islamics ?

Is there any Islamic society in the world that even allows the existence of any kind of thriving non-Islamic community ?

I can only think of one (Turkey) that even makes a half-hearted effort at such, and even they seem to be back-sliding. Given these facts, is it any wonder that more and more people around the world are equating Islam with terror. The west cannot reform Islam from terror, hate, racism and ignorance. It has to come from within. But alas, there is not one single Islamic society in the world working to curtail the hateful teachings that come from within and breed terror and war.

Our so-called allies (the Saudis) are in a position as the keeper of the faith, to provide such leadership by setting an example. They do not even attempt an effort though. To this day, any religion other than Islam is forbidden to be practised in Saudi Arabia. Anyone entering the country with a bible will have it confiscated and burned. Imagine the uproar if we did that to muslims in our country.
