Contrast of Islamic, Jewish and Christian Martyrdom

Reader comment on item: What Do Terrorists Want? [A Caliphate and Shari'a]

Submitted by John Randall Peacher (United States), Aug 2, 2005 at 17:28

History bears witness that believers of different faiths have willingly given their lives for what they believe. Christians have, and still are, paying the ultimate price for their beliefs in Islamist countries, as well as suffering terror with the general population in countries that suffer civil strife. Jews have suffered millions of deaths throughout history, as have Christians, not only for what they believe but also for who they are. There is a distinct difference between the three major religions in the present battle for "whose G-d is the correct One."

The followers of Christ, who was Jewish as a historical fact, believe what their Leader said, "greater love hath no man than to lay down his life for his friends."

This belief seperates and reveals a distinct difference between believers of Christianity, Judiasm, and Islamist faiths - Islamists commit suicide, blow themselves up and murder as many innocents as they can for Allah - while Christians and Jews have exhibited a desire to develop, resettle, educate, build, and enhance the societies in which they are in the majority.

As hard as we try, we cannot run from or reinvent the historical facts of mankind and human history.

When a majority of people of Muslim faith rise up in anger against the terrorists, the dictators, the murderers who are in positions of authority, and demand that religions live in peace a major change for the good will take place on this troubled planet we all find ourselves on at this present time.
