Difficult to seriously contemplate?

Reader comment on item: What Do Terrorists Want? [A Caliphate and Shari'a]

Certainly the notion of establishing a Caliphate again is a driving force but as others have said, is this really going to bring success to islam? The Arabs were not happier or better off under the Ottomans. This very ideological movement is different and so similar to noted revolutionary imperialism.

Half the west is so lost that they would really be ready to join the jihad if they could half believe in it. Thankfully the ideologues of islam and their 'moderate' foot soldiers will have a hard time teaching even an idiot that they have a better world vision which they can achieve. Communism somehow how managed to convince people for almost 100 years with very few examples of happy, true communists. Islam has had 1400 years to prove itself and all it has proven is that its at its nadir.

I wish it were difficult to contemplate how westerners logic is more capable of blaming themselves, ignoring whats in front of their face and excusing all actions of those who wish to do them wrong. When Sudan/Darfur is completely Arabized I'm sure Adam will blame the 'racist' west for doing nothing instead of the muslims for following his very accurate advice describing what is already happening.
