Reader comment on item: King of Pop Michael Jackson and Black Converts to Islam
in response to reader comment: Michael Jackson will never convert to Islam

If Michael Jackson was raised as a Jehovah's Witness, his religion is disqualified from the term Christian. I'm not slamming, I'm just talking about foundations of "revealed truth."

We must all learn to judge by the deeds, not by the labels.

Like Islam, Jehovah's Witness claims to have a revelation from an angel that differs from the Tenach (aka Old Testament) and New Testament, as you can see here: http://www.carm.org/jw/nutshell.htmhttp://www.carm.org/jw/nutshell.htm

Here is the standard for "angelic revelations" in the New Testament letter to the Galatians, which shows us that falling away from the path is nothing new:

6 I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting him who called you in the grace of Christ and turning to a different gospel [simply "good news"]-- 7 not that there is another gospel, but there are some who trouble you and want to pervert the gospel of Christ [Anointed One, literally Messiah in English transliteration]. 8 But even if we, or an ANGEL FROM HEAVEN, should preach to you a gospel contrary to that which we preached to you, let him be accursed. 9 As we have said before, so now I say again, If any one is preaching to you a gospel contrary to that which you received, let him be accursed. (Chapter1, verses 6-9) [emphasis added]

The "angels" always claim that the Almighty can't manage to preserve His own writings. (Yet can run the universe? And I should buy such a claim?)

Just today, writer Harrak repeats this amazing belief, that the Bible of the Almighty Creator of the Universe is lost to corruption by weak little humans. (Too bad the Muslim beduins found the scrolls at Qumran to prove him wrong. Worse that he still repeats the same lies to this day!)

It is a very hard thing to cut off a person--only a terrible consequence can condone it. Yet if you look, the writer above will condemn himself if he strays from the good news! Why is he willling to risk cursing himself? Because the consequences of believing a lie are so horrible. In the past, perversion of the Law of Sacrifice and Love led to pride, pogroms, and violence of all kinds against other members of the Creation--unacceptable before the Holy One. In Islam, the claims of "angelic revelation" reveal the ripened horrors of such a tactic: rage, hatred, pride, lust and other crimes are glorified. This is why it is necessary to turn away from, or cut off, the diseased branch of "angelic revelation".

Again, from the historical record (2nd preserved letter to the Corinthians, Chapter 11):

12 And what I do I will continue to do, in order to undermine the claim of those who would like to claim that in their boasted mission they work on the same terms as we do. 13 For such men are false apostles, deceitful workmen, disguising themselves as apostles of Christ. 14 And no wonder, for even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light. 15 So it is not strange if his servants also disguise themselves as servants of righteousness. Their end will correspond to their deeds.

(Satan disguised as an angel of light is supported by Isaiah's use of "Heylel" (aka Lucifer) to describe the King of Babylon as an allegory of the Fallen Angel Satan:
"How you are fallen from heaven, O Day Star, son of Dawn! How you are cut down to the ground, you who laid the nations low!

If the Adversary disguises himself as an angel of light, then we read that his "revealed truth" will be exposed by the deeds of his followers. Murder? Bloodshed? Sexual impurities of all kinds? Twisting the very foundations of Judeo-Christian revelations?

We must all learn to judge by the deeds, not by the labels.
