King of Pop Becomming a Muslim?

Reader comment on item: King of Pop Michael Jackson and Black Converts to Islam

This is a very interesting twist to Michael Jackson's 'interesting' life, resulting in his wanting to become a Muslim. Another famous pop star, Cat Stevens, went this route several years ago, now calling himself Yusif Islam.

If this is his fate, why not? This is especially true if he plans to settle permanently in Bahrain, far from Neverland ( which I presume will eventually be sold to pay Jackson's remaining legal fees and other massive debts). I can well understand why he wants to dissappear from public scruteny, and cruel jokes from people like U.S. TV talk show personality Jay Leno.

Whether he donates any money (if he even has any) to extremist Islamic causes remains to be seen. He may even find out (by delving into his far and distant past, like "Roots" author Alex Haley did) that his forbearers may have actually been Muslims before being captured and chained into the stinking holds of slave ships, and brought to the New World to be sold and treated like animals.

He could change his name to Muhammad Mihail bin Yacoub, or something like that. It might even set him on a new course in life.

Not that I'm pro Islam, in light of current events. But in his case, let him do what he thinks he needs to do, and fade himself into the closet of history.
