Don't forget Mohammed Ali

Reader comment on item: King of Pop Michael Jackson and Black Converts to Islam
in response to reader comment: I have criticized Europe: now it is America's turn

Cassius Clay adopted Islam and the name, Mohammed Ali, many years ago around the time he was jailed for refusing a call-up to serve in Viet Nam.

This trend(?) of Black-Americans to adopt Islam reminds me a little of the trend of some American Jews to become Buddhists. I guess the grass is always a little greener on the other side of the fence. Unfortunately, Black Americans seem to not notice the treatment afforded Blacks in Darfur and elsewhere by Arabs, who also profess their devotion to Allah!
