As some religious chauvinists dominate these kinds of forums you must realize that there's also another sound. Unfortunately you don't hear that sound too often, but that is changing. In all countries and societies ideologies are loosing their sharp edges.

Why? Well, maybe because of globalization, The Internet, who knows? Japan got rid of its medieval society some 100 years ago, the communistic ideology in so many countries disappeared. China is changing rapidly. India is modernizing. Am I referring to capitalism? No. The facts that more and more people realize that they can have a better life. By placing the individual human right over the interests of the collective.

So now traditional Islam is facing a dilemma. Should it adjust to the demands of new times? No, like any dogmatic ideology does it will try to preserve its original form. But it will burst. This change shall be initiated in western countries with many Muslim immigrants.

In these countries Muslim women are more successful than their male counterparts. They experience success, freedom and happiness. Something they could not have accomplished in their country of origin. Now the last thing they need is a blinded, traditional Muslim, quoting dogmatic views from the Quran, referring to tribal and cultural traditions. Unfortunately, these things go hand in hand.

These women need a liberal interpretation of the Quran. They shall demand it. And in due time, they will get it.

This change shall cause the emancipation of the Arab world.
