Name of Baracks Daughter

The name of Barack Obama's daughter comes from the Hawaiian transliteration of Maria or Mary. He did not name his daughter after some caliph's daughter. You can find the name Malia in church hymns, bibles, and other Christian materials written in Hawaiian in reference to the Virgin Mary.
