The 9/11 terrorists did not board the planes with guns. I am not sure where you are getting your information from, just as I am not sure what the point of your question is.

They used box cutters that retracted, knives that retract into a sheath used for cutting boxes. Somehow, these got through the (then) lax security. Then they pretended they had bombs and used that to scare the passengers.

Are you looking for answers or what here? Forgive me for being cynical, but I do not understand your motive. Perhaps you can explain it.
