we judge Islam because judgement is one facet of an active intelligence

in response to reader comment: Why do you judge Islam

Ahmed writes:

"........Why do you depict Islam as a violent religion because of the acts some young crazy guys? "

The irony is - if you read your scriptures - you could be talking about Mohammed.

"When the Apostle of Allah . . . cut off (the hands and feet of) those who had stolen his camels and he had their eyes put out by fire (heated nails), Allah reprimanded him on that (action), and Allah, the Exalted, revealed: "The punishment of those who wage war against Allah and His Apostle and strive with might and main for mischief through the land is execution or crucifixion." (Abu Dawud, no. 4357)"

But you're not talking about Mo. Could you be talking about this ... :

who both fought with tooth and claw to remain in non-Muslim Australia while at the same time hated its people. He was convicted this week of having plotted with a group of local Islamists to blow up thousands of people - and was taped explicitly saying it was OK to blow up children - to teach 'Australians a lesson.'

It was interesting to hear hi on TV from a clip a few years ago talking about how there were 2 laws 'the law of Australia' and the 'law of Arlll-luhhh'

Obviously Arlll-luhhh's law wasn't very effective in going into bat for the lives of innocent people - so luckilly Australian law stepped in. The surveillance by security services over 2 years had this case sewn up - these fools had no idea they were watched and there are several thousand hours of covert video and phone taps proving their guilt and the seriousness of their intentions.

The trouble is, these guys thought they were doing the right thing. Anybody can think anything in Islam and act on it - as log as it appears to be in line with a 'deeper understanding' of the true path.

So , coming back to the point - if Islam is not a violent religion - why is atrocious violence always the first choice for so many diasffected Islamists?

BECAUSE THE KORAN IS FULL OF VIOLENCE. MOHAMMED COMMITTED VIOLENT ACTS AND HE IS THE ROLE MODEL.

BUt you're not, are you?

"....................We all condemned those atrocities .
"

BS. Some Muslims living in the West HAD to condemn those atrocities of face a severe backlash from their host countries. MANY Muslims in the Middle East actually celebrated - some dancing in the streets.

'.........and we even gave more OIL'

BS. Arab countries SOLD more oil They didn't GIVE it away. Unlike the US and other non-Muslim countries which GIVES away food aid etc to any country that undergoes a disaster..

".........Why don't you consider America a violent when it dropped the Atomic Bomb on Japan? "

And don't you consider all Sunnis to be violent for destroying the Golden and Al Askari mosques?

You did not read my previous post on this matter - if you had you did not reply with a cogent response. You know nothing of WW2 and what Japan did to gather the ire of virtually EVERY country in South East Asia for what it did to teir populaces in WW2. And as bad as a nuclear bomb is America actually saved hundreds of thousands of lives by dropping the bomb. The japanese were going top fight to the end for their emperor (much like radical Islamists do for their mythology)- and that would have meant a slow , painful death by starvation in many cases and death by conventional bombs for many hundreds of thousands .

"...... These terrorist action are committed by individuals and they are responsible for them NOT Islam "

but your ideological treatise, the Koran is riddled with violence, your founder , the Perfect man, personally committed acts of violence as did his immediate followers and every generation since then. What did you expect?

And remember, this is coming from a 'religion' whose most fervent followers can have diametrically opposing viewpoints on any issue. One of your high profile religious nutters recently said it was OK to kill executives of TV channles that broadcast porn inthe Middle East - while other nutters said such a fatwah was unethical (that there might qualify for a true Islamic miracle).
