The world sees through religious colored glasses

Reader comment on item: Barack Obama through Muslim Eyes

Submitted by Chris (United States), Aug 26, 2008 at 21:18

I do see how Barack is a bit naïveté but if elected president it's really an entire administration that is running the country, surly nobody believes ‘W' is actually in full control now do they? And I agree the whole American political body is a bit naive when it comes to the Middle East & the Jahad thing, so there is a problem.

But the problem is no deity based religion is really a religion of peace, certainly not Christianity and that would go for Judaism too. Christians don't want to point the finger so much because their own beliefs, the history of their own churches, too; have plenty of blood and hate on their hands.

And before you start making excuses like "I'm Christian and I don't hate", I can come up with a moderate Muslim dude too, that says and acts the same way and is totally cool with accepting other peoples belief. But that doesn't stop Al-Qaeda from planning suicide attacks against infidels any more then it will stop the KKK from targeting their fellow Christians just because their skins is darker then a brown paper bag.

Personally, I think the whole problem is just that; the people with money and power believe in a deity, so that justifies anything action they take; from murder, to unrealistic expectations that if they just pray hard enough, god will fix it.
