what taqiya actually is...

Reader comment on item: Barack Obama through Muslim Eyes
in response to reader comment: BELIEVING MUSLIMS WORLDWIDE WOULD SEE OBAMA'S CONVERSION TO CHRISTIANITY AS A CASE OF "TAQQIYAH" (PIOUS DECEPTION)

Taqiya is not a part of jihad. It's simple definition is to lie about being a Muslim in order to save one's life. The concept comes from the fact that early Muslims were subject to persecution, death, and horrendous torture based on their conversion to Islam. Some Muslims would lie when confronted with inquisition and wondered if they were doing the right thing. In response, a quranic address was given, which acquitted anyone who lied in order to save their life of any spiritual wrongdoing.

That's it, end of story - the rest is distortion and fear-mongering.

I find it interesting that people who aren't even Muslim claim to assert what Muslims think or believe, and give either the flimsiest "evidence" (a statement by a few and unqualified individuals) or none at all.

Obama being a secret Muslim bent on world domination is as probable as him being a Martian secretly helping to colonize the planet.
