America can take benefit of name

Reader comment on item: Barack Obama through Muslim Eyes

Submitted by Shabbir Alam Khan (India), Nov 5, 2008 at 13:13

The propaganda war against Barack Obama only reveals the prejudice of a handful Muslim-haters in USA. What is in name? There are so many Jews and Christians whose name resemble to Muslim name or the Muslims having Jewish or Christian names. However, if the anti-Obama lobby thinks that due to the middle name of Obama, Muslims all over the world would find some affinity to him, it would be boon for America. It is easy to recover from economic recession, but it is hard to wash away the anger and disdain of people world over, specially Muslim community due to arrogant policies of Bush. If it is achieved merely due to affinity with the middle name of the President-elect, it would be in the larger interest of the people of America. Mr. Obama has promised for change and we believe USA shall stand for change for the cause of peace and justice. Humanity remembers benefactors as well as tyrants - benefactors like Moses, Jesus and Muhammad and tyrants like Pharaoh, Chingez and Hitler. The President-elect shall surely follow the path of the former and shall make peace with the people and bring peace in the world.
