Respect for an Enemy is Hardly Praise - Read Again for Underlying Truth - Islam Failed to Conquer All According to the Words of Jesus Christ

Reader comment on item: Barack Obama through Muslim Eyes
in response to reader comment: Theodore Roosevelt (26th president of USA) praises Islam!

Submitted by M. Tovey (United States), Sep 12, 2008 at 16:18

Theodore Roosevelt, while considered an outstanding politician of a conservative and Republican nature, could not necessarily be considered a historian of the religious nature of Europe and the continents of Asia and Africa. The premise of the narrative contained in the previous post cursorily examines the various incursions and exploits of the ‘Mohammedans' purely in summary fashion, only to show the extent of the resolve of the followers of Islam, until they met with, not a pure Christian contingent of defenders, but of a conglomerate people with a common resolve not to fall under the sway of the teachings of the Islamic Prophet, something they were warned about from the trading companies of the various times.

It is a stretch so say that based on what was written then, that President Roosevelt ‘praised' ‘Mohammedans'. There is less of his giving them accolades, only that he acknowledges the extent of their conquests until they reached the limits of their abilities and resources. One wonders that if they were truly undergirded in the power of the Quranic deity, why they were not able to finish the job and the world subjugated to Islam completely. Not only did the Islamic forces fail to win the world over, they were compelled to fight for what they would eventually retain, and lose, up to and including the loss of the Holy Land in World War One, which occured after Mr. Roosevelt's observations.

It would be a mistake to put too much of a spin on the narrative of Mr. Roosevelt and make out like Islam will exert new influences based on old ones. That Islam may soon achieve some form of world dominating power is still up for debate, even as such influences are seen to be developing. Yet Islam has failed, even worse than nominal Christianity in exerting a complete dominance over the world. The Name of Jesus Christ remains influential in many places of the world, and faith in Him remains as true to the Holy Bible as it ever has, even more so now as the world faces its greatest challenges to the preservation of peace.

What was not available to Mr. Roosevelt in the form of information was that the mindset of his time did not have the latest understanding of the critical circumstance necessary to make correct observations about the Middle East. This could not be done until 1948, when Biblical prophecy came exploding into the world reality and Israel was reformed, just as Jesus Christ said. Examine the parable of the fig tree.

The times we are facing today would be inexplicable in Mr. Roosevelt's time, and even so in the later Mr. Roosevelt's time. Had FDR lived through his fourth term and made it to the fifth, he would have been in a better position to see where the world is going. We who hold the truths of the Holy Bible sure by the power of the WORD of Almighty God can see that every word spoken there provides a better insight than what might be gained in Mr. Roosevelt's observation.

The Holy Bible explains prophetically what Mr. Roosevelt observed post scripturally, and in its passages, we are in a much better position to follow what the Holy Bible says instead of Mr. Roosevelt. In the end of the analysis, we may see that Islam is given leeway in the face of faithless nominal Christianity, but the execution of the Word of the LORD at the bidding of the Holy One of Israel will be the final say of world history, and Mr. Roosevelt's observations will be a whispered footnote of a time long ago forgotten.
