Hello Miah Termanini,

Although many would say this is an "old subject" in today's lightning-fast news cycle, I think you bring up a good point that bears close scutiny and encompases much more than the oft-repeated and widely accepted "Obama is a Christian".

All your info. about what scholars of Islam say about 'murtadd' and the faith of the Muslim father being automatically passed on is true - and also the bit about an apostate being worse than an infidel. I've read one reason for this is that an apostate Muslim rejects what he knows of Islam, whereas an infidel (unbeliever to start with) doesn't fully know what he is rejecting.

You bring up Obama's Church of 20+ years. During those years the head pastor, Rev. Jeremiah Wright, was an open advocate of Black Liberation Theology. This theology teaches Christianity as a matter of liberation here and now, rather than in an afterlife. It explains the saving work of a Black Christ who will deliver "oppressed blacks" from the "oppressive whites".

Is this the "saving work" that Obama refers to when he states, "I believe Jesus is my savior"?

The founder of Black Liberation Theology, James Cone, said that Obama's church (Trinity in Chicago) is the one that most embodies the message of Black Liberation Theology. "I agree with everything James Cone (founder of Black Theology) says," - quoting Obama's pastor Rev. Wright. Look up Black Liberation Theology on the internet - it's the most racist (against whites, Asians, etc.) publically accepted theology that exists in America today.

It IS NOT representative of main-stream "black" churches. Yet Obama picked Rev. Wright's church.

One critic, the theology scholar Dr. Robert A. Morley, states: "Black Liberation Theology turns religion into sociology, and Jesus into a Marx rebel. While making statements against whites and Asians, it promotes a poor self-image among blacks, and describes the black man as a helpless victum of forces and people beyond his control. Black Liberation Theology calls for political liberation instead of spiritual salvation."

"Political liberation in stead of spiritual salvation." - INSTEAD of spiritual salvation.

Again, Barrack Obama was a member for over twenty years of a church that was considered by the founder of Black Liberation Theology to be the closest to Black Liberation Theology in it's teachings. Here's a quote from that founder -

"To be Christian is to be one of those whome God has chosen. God has chosen the black people! It is important to make a further distinction here among black hatred, black racism, and Black Power. Black hatred is the black man's strong aversion to white society. No black man living in white America can escape it...But the charge of black racism cannot be reconciled with the facts. While it is true that blacks do hate whites, black hatred is not racism."

"I agree with everything he [James Cone] says." - quote from Obama's spiritual mentor, advisor and personnal friend, for thirty years, the Rev. Jeremiah Wright.

When you wonder just what the Rev. Wright said to "convert" Obama to "Christianity", it's hard to imagine Rev. Wright giving an accurate delivery, according to any denomination, of the Gospel of Christ.

So what does that have to do with Obama and the Muslims? If Obama is revealed as having converted to a "belief" that is not actually, in the mainstream, considered to be Christianity. Might that leave Obama a "loophole" to state that - technically - his claim of converting to a "Christian" was false from the get-go?

Would this "false conversion" negate his having become an "apostate" from Islam?

As a side note, look at Michelle Obama's Princeton Thesis -

It's easy to see why she, as well, attended Wright's church.

And last but not least - in 2002 the Rev. Jeremiah Wright, Obama's "spiritual mentor, advisor and personnal friend" for thirty years, gave a Lifetime Achievement Award to LOUIS FARRAKHAN.

God help us if Obama becomes President.
