What exactly are you implying Ahmed?Reader comment on item: Barack Obama through Muslim Eyes Submitted by sara (United States), Sep 5, 2008 at 17:42 Are you trying to innocently ask how it was possible because you do not believe that it happened? That sure is what it sounds like you are saying. And a few days before September 11th, to do that is unconscionable. I will answer your 'question' anyway in the hopes that you are asking sincerely and not cynically: The reason that airport security now checks for liquids (the shampoo you cannot swallow) is due to the major terror attack foiled by UK/US authorities a few years ago where they were planning to use liquids as explosives. Since then, liquids are banned on flights. This was not the case before 9/11/01. In fact, the terror attacks on western countries (successful and thwarted) have cost the populations of the west extreme inconvenience (as you experienced), who must go through long lines of security, have their toilettries banned etc. as well as untold financial expenditures, in an effort to safeguard the citizens of our country against murderous Islamic terrorists. That is the reality, and if you are inconvenienced, you should loudly speak out against those who would commit such atrocities. Hope this helped, Sara Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes. Original writing only, please.
