Ahmed's absurd statements

Reader comment on item: Barack Obama through Muslim Eyes
in response to reader comment: Arabic grammar is set by Muslims

Submitted by the Grand Infidel of Kaffiristan (Australia), Oct 12, 2008 at 20:04

'Ahmed' writes:

"...........Unless you are Muslim you won't be able to understand Arabic grammar, because it based on the Holy Quran. "

2 massive mistakes (or facile attempts at lying) in this sentence.

The first one is "Unless you are Muslim you won't be able to understand Arabic grammar".

What a totally asinine statement.

So, if I show this statement to my Lebanese Christian friends down the road or take it to an Egyptian Copt - what do you think their response might be? Laughter and then derision when I explain the source of this statement would be a good guess.

And let's see - if I go over to Djakarta, Indonesia - and ask any of the 200 million Muslims there - who speak Bahasa Indonesian as their first language - they will be able to understand Arabic grammar?????

Sir, you must learn to distinguish what you think from facts - and what you wish from logic.

The 2nd point is that Arabic is ' .........based on the holy Quran'

An even more absurd statement.

Arabic derives from proto-Semitic language (2300BC) - which predates the Koran by some 3,000 years. So therefore your statement that Arabic is based on the Quran is totally and utterly FALSE.

and while you are at it

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arabic_language

"............... How dare you say that Quran contains grammatical mistake. "

With this statement you are showing your indignation that the Koran might contain a grammatical mistake. You are so fixed in your beliefs that you think there are no grammatical mistakes whatsover?

Are you serious?

Again - watch out for that wishful thinking which you're so prone to fall into.
