Sarah's Apostasy

Reader comment on item: Barack Obama through Muslim Eyes

Submitted by Zentrist (United States), Oct 4, 2008 at 22:28

Speaking of "apostasy," one might note that Sarah Palin, technically speaking, is an apostate from Roman Catholicism. In a recent Weekly Standard article, Terry Eastland points up the fact that Palin was baptizes Catholic as an infant, but that as a teen she and her mom began sort of shopping around for another church. I'd like to hear more about this! It is apropos of nothing in particular, except the fact that Sarah embraces, apparently, one serious tenet of the Catholic faith, viz., the unspeakable sin of abortion. I'm not trying to discredit what Tony Blankley last night referred to as a "spectacular political personality." I agree--and I admire this extraordinary woman. She appears to be on her way to superstar status, win or lose in November. If she can come this far in just a few weeks, nationally speaking, how much will she grow as VP? As a result of her remarkable "comeback," McCain still has a chance. More than a chance!
