I agree with you that violence (in the name of religion) or in any other name should be treated in the same manner. Religious concepts are all very well as long as they dont make the holder of these concepts 'un-civil' to his fellowmen.

Verbal, mental and phyisical violence cannot be accepted, and religions should be audited for ideas and practices that promote this. We need to protect democratic values and a healthy secularism in public life with the power of the state, wherever required.
