The Medieval Mentality of this Devout Muslim

I've followed this discussion for a week and watched how several people got suckered into trying to reason with the devout Mr Ansari about the koran. It looks to me that he has much to learn from them but actually learned nothing because he is obsessed with waging glorious scriptural battle. As this muslim admits in he is really enjoying himself.

But, over and over, he reveals ignorance and medieval intolerance, like in these statements of his:

(1) "If a person is following a religion he or she must accept that his or her religion is absolutely true and all other religions are wrong and invalid"...

(2) "Islam follow the same rule...and i am sure other religions do follow the same rule otherwise we cant consider those as religion...".

(3) "If you think that your religion is ok as well as other one then you are making serious mistake..either you are out of your mind or need some therapy...."

(4) "realize how confused chrisitans are regarding their own faith"

(5) "This is unfortunately true that West is giving second or no priority to their religion"

(6) "Allowing others to practice their religion is a different debate". (Sure, the way Pakistan, Saudia Arabia, Hamas, allow others to practice their religion.)

In other words, he seems incapable of understanding the kind of hard won tolerance that has developed in other religions over centuries and is only now beginning in Islam.

It seems his devout but ignorant mind is just not wired to understand tolerance.

In fact he believes exactly the opposite: a tolerant Christian is "confused", maybe even insane; the West is weak because it learned to separate church from state; Hinduism, a religion about which he is clueless , is just "idol worship" .

Thank you for revealing yourself, Mr Ansari. You have accomplished exactly the opposite of what you tried to do. Medieval devout Muslims like you are definitely part of the problem, not part of the future solution. You have underestimated the West in ways you cannot even comprehend (but that is ok with me).
