Romesh-how about a little reconsideration?

Reader comment on item: Ban Islam?

Submitted by Robert A (United States), Sep 2, 2007 at 02:29

Thank you for your reflections on my comments. I understand ,and for some time, have felt the impulse to ban the practice of Islam. But is it realistic to take a complete belief system ,in one fell swoop, away from 2-3 million Americans? We must think in terms of some kind of compromise. My suggestion for legal enforcement of the separation of the practice of political verses from religious could be a beginning wedge. I would imagine a fair number of American Muslims would be relieved of an onerus burden. I could be very wrong, but we must try. The alternatives are too bleak. Thanks again for your reflections.
