... I would just like to say that I don't see much point in discussing Islam with her. Being Muslim in a western country, especially after one has converted to Islam is (and I cannot stress this enough) *very* different from being Muslim in an Islamic state, or even in one with a Muslim majority.

Converts in the west interpret the Koran the way *they* want to and practice Islam only as far as is convenient to them. To all such people, I would highly recommend spending a few months in the middle east (or some such place) to experience the true nature of Islam.
