Reader comment on item: Israel's Unnecessary War
in response to reader comment: Shame on Israel and The US for supporting massive aggression against civilians (i.e. terrorism)

"Civilised nations solve such issues with dialogue and negotiations."

Exactly! However, Hezbollah is not a "civilized nation". It is a bunch of terrorist thugs. It is not possible to negotiate with such people as all they want to do is kill and destroy.

"Israeli army hasn't hurt Hezbolah as much as it would like and turns its agression against women and children."

Israel is not "tageting" civillians, those civillians just happen to be where Israel has to attack. It is not the Israeli army's fault that Hezbollah chooses to violate international law by hiding amomg civillians, fighting from mosques, transporting their fighters in ambulances, etc. '

However, the Israeli army still has to do combat with them, so the civillians get caught in the middle. WELCOME TO THE HISTORY OF WAR 101! Civillians always get caught in the middle, even when an army does its best to avoid them.

"It would have been much more clever for the Israeli-US front to make Arabs look the agressors..."

Excuse me, but are we talking about the same battles, in the same countries, between the same forces? Hezbollah (the Arabs) ARE the aggressors. We (the Israeli-US front) don't have to make them look like anything: they are already the aggressors.

"It is a shame for Israelis who confirm beliefs about their aggressive nature."

Elijah, before you spew out anymore of your nonsense in this forum, please go to a library and read the history of the last 60 years. You obviously have never studied the subject. One of the first points you will learn is that Israel has been the victim in every war it has been involved in. It has been attacked repeatedly by its Arab neighbors. Israel has always been the party to show restraint. If they were truly "aggressive", they would today own everything from Iraq, to Saudia Arabia, to Egypt, to Lebanon, and eveything in between.

No, Elijah, Israel is not the aggressor in this action, and you are nothing but an uneducated hypocrite.
