This is how Arabs and Muslims act in war:

Prophet Muhammad's advices to Muslim troops:

1- Ethics of War in Islam:

Go on by the name of God, and with the blessings of God and His Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). Do not kill an old man, a child, or a woman. Do not exaggerate in taking spoils nor retaliate in devastation properties. Rectify things and be charitable, for God Loves charitable people.

2- Humane Conduct by Muslims in war time:

Do not fight them tell after you tell them the message of Islam. If they insulted you, do not fight them till they start, if they started, then, still do not retaliate till they kill one of you, to show them that you can retaliate and there was no other choice. If you manage to show anyone of them the righteousness, it is better from acquiring the whole earth.

3- Granted Asylum for non-Muslim:

When Zainab -the Prophet's daughter- shouted from the women rows in the dawn prayer saying: Listen people, I have granted Abo Al-Aass my asylum..! Finishing the prayer, Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said: O' people did you hear what I heart? Yes, they replied. Then the Prophet said: I swear by God I did not know and I just heart it as you do! And I support any asylum granted by any Moslem despite the social class.!! This is according to the verse" when one of the non-believers asked for your protection, grant it to him/her till he/she became in safe.
