Reader comment on item: Israel's Unnecessary War

Submitted by Michael (United States), Jul 18, 2006 at 13:23

I concur whole heartedly with Daniel Pipes and his hard nose perspicacity. But there is another dimension to this conflict that is studiously avoided because it drives the politically correct liberals and conservative atheists ballistic. Notwithstanding any attempt to comprehend and confront Islamic terrorism without a Biblical understanding and worldview is destined to abject failure. Psalm 83:4 relates the counsels of the Middle Eastern (Islamic) governments: "Come," they say,"let us destroy them as a nation," that the name of Israel be remembered no more." Psalm 2 expounds, "Why do the nations (non-Jews) conspire and the people plot in vain? The kings of the earth take their stand and the rulers gather together against the LORD and against his Anointed One (Christ). The One enthroned in heaven laughs; the Lord scoffs at them ...."

The unspoken spiritual dimension of the Islamic vs. Israel, America and the non-Islamic world dilemma is the very crux of the conflict. We are living Bible prophesy now, today and will be tomorrow. Any serious student of Bible prophesy can relate where the world is vis-vis what is happening to Israel and in general terms but at the same time with astonishingly specific description what will occur in the immediate and strategic future. This is not magic or secret knowledge. God alone knows the future and holds the mortgage on his creation. It is the wise person that will study his revealed will in his Word. The future is clearly revealed in the Psalms, all the Old Testament prophets and by the New Testament. Any attempt to answer the dilemma and danger of the present without consulting the Bible is foolish and futile regardless of the strategies and sophistication employed by governments. The world is blind and groping for answers. The Answer is Jesus Christ but the world would rather perish in conflagration then submit to his Lordship over it.
