Counterproductive pressure

Reader comment on item: Israel's Unnecessary War in Lebanon

Submitted by VAN (Australia), Jul 18, 2006 at 14:38

Have France, Russia, and the EU been sincere [like Shalom achshav and the Mothers] in calling on israel to appease, yet choosing to describe EVERY defence as 'disproportionate'? Probably not genuine, given the home-growing Moslem constituencies. Just look at the 'conscience-stricken' Swedes. These pressures have contributed greatly to Israel's slide into Oslo, the Rose Garden, Camp David et seq. and have really been predictably counter-productive, encouraging and prolonging conflict.

Europe's general mantras and meddling have led away from Peace, to the miasma of 'Peace in our time'. Please ensure that the Israeli public gets the necessary exposure to Pipes' Piece.
