Israel's performance in Lebanon, being infinitely more efficient in more trying circumstances than the US's results in Iraq suggest that someone is learning something. you write.

Today is Tue pm (US time), and so far it looks like IDF is copying, and not improving on, the Pentagon. If they don't dramatically shift their tactics in the next 3-4 days, they will begin to be the losers in this confrontation, Jon. So far, its a video game war. Overwhelming boots-on-the-ground would represent an improvement. The longer Israel waits, the less likely that will happen. So far, Iran is winning.
