The Lesson of Israel

Reader comment on item: Israel's Unnecessary War

Submitted by Roy Weinberg (United States), Jul 18, 2006 at 16:21

The important lesson that the West needs to learn from the latest conflict between Israel and Islamofascist organizations such as Hezbollah and Hamas is that this is a conflict between the freedom of the Western world and the darkness and tyranny of the Islamic world.

Fundamental Islam seeks to overthrow the West by destroying Israel first and then Europe and America. Israel has foolishly caved in to international pressure to attempt to make peace with its sworn enemies through appeasement. Israel should know better than anyone in the world that Islam is a sworn enemy of the Jews that calls for the extermination of all Jews from the earth before Judgment Day can come. That is why Hitler is held in such high esteem by the Islamic world even though he was considered a pagan by Islamic standards.

Israel has appeased herself into the disasterous position she is now in. Israel has continually coughed-up land to her enemies in the delusion that land sacrifices would bring peace. Instead, appeasement has been a sign of weakness to the Arab world that Israel is ripe for destruction and Islamofascist regimes such as Iran and Syria, bankrolled by Saudi Arabia, are moving in for the kill.

Iran, Syria and Saudi Arabia also believe that both Europe and America have become so weakened by secularism that they have lost their will to fight and will not defend the Jewish state when the Islamic world moves in for the final kill. The Islamic world has waged a relentless propaganda war against the West, blaming Israel for all sorts of atrocities and blaming America for defending the Jewish state. The proof that Islamofascists are winning this war can be seen in the air-time that far-left, anti-war and anti-America mouthpieces such as Cindy Sheehan and Noam Chomsky get in the West.

Unfortunately, the only way to defeat the spread of Islamofascism is to crush Iran and Syria through military force. Diplomacy won't do it. Remember Neville Chamberlain? He thought that he could appease Hitler and his pacifism unleashed a nightmare on Europe. You can't bargain with fanatics who believe that God has ordained them to take over the world through violence--diplomacy is weakness in their eyes. Either Europe and the United States better wake up and soon or freedom and democracy will be no more.
