Democracy implies responsibility

Reader comment on item: Israel's Unnecessary War in Lebanon

Once a moron – always a moron. "Micromanagement" of military actions by Peretz reminds me of another "brilliant" amateur – McNamara. Unlike our moron, McNamara was Berkley educated "round head" (IQ of 165) with planning and managing "gradual" and "proportional" response to Vietcong. You all know how it all ended. A captain, who accidentally gets his leg run-over by his own tank! What a brilliant commander.

But my point is – Israel is a democracy, so, the citizens are responsible for the leaders they elect, not unlike Arabs of Palestine. Now Arabs are teaching them a lesson. Hope they teach them good not to entrust their lives and lives of the children to labor union bosses and crooked polititians.
