Need to prove to Bush

Reader comment on item: Israel's Unnecessary War in Lebanon

Submitted by Melvin A. Fechter (United States), Jul 18, 2006 at 12:51

The underlying reason for the seeming policy of appeasement has been that it was necessary to prove to Bush that his roadmap to peace could not, would not, work. Israel will impose its borders; it will impose its peace; and if it's necessary for it to impose not merely fences but a no-man's-land in southern Lebanon, or within lands the Palestinians would love to rule, it will.
