Reader comment on item: Israel's Unnecessary War in Lebanon

Submitted by Eli Konorti (Canada), Jul 18, 2006 at 14:15

I had the honor to attend a private dinner party and picture taken with Dr. Pipes when he was in Vancouver , BC some two years ago. I was struck by his ability to portray a picture in a way that we can all understand the arguments and by citing precedents.

I belive that Dr. Pipes is right again and I whole heartedly wish Israel would follow his wisdom. I believe though that Israel would like to do just that if it were not for world opinion that always seems to blame Israel for anything.

Is the suggestion offered by Dr. Pipes to ignore world opinion and just do what is right for Israel? I think that we should just ignore the world. They have not (with the exception of the US) helped in the past and they will not help in the future. Israel has to finish the job on its own.
