Reader comment on item: "Death to America"

Submitted by Mark Burch (United States), May 28, 2003 at 19:44

...What about the war of Anglo-American oil interests against Muslims that began in 1953 when the good Dr. Mossadegh nationalized the Iranian oil industry to better serve his people who owned the oil?. In response, Dulles declared Mossadegh a madman and the CIA overthrew him and put in his place a brutal dictator, the Shah, who tortured and killed his own people. Finally in 1979, the people rose up and kicked out the Shah and took Americans hostage, rightfully so, as the Americans had held the Iranian people hostage all those years.

If you want to learn history, you can go back further to 1923, when the British used mustard gas on Kurds and other tribes people in what is now Iraq.
