The Price of Apathy/Appeasement

Reader comment on item: "Death to America"

Submitted by K.S. Platt (United States), Sep 11, 2002 at 15:54

Although the Islamicists have found it necessary to kill innocent Jews for too many years to count (without appropriate indignation from the rest of the world, including the US), what is surprising is the lack of attention given to their continuing murder of innocent civilians, not only Jews, world-wide.

If the civilized world had had the guts to take a united stand against the murderous behavior of the Palestinians and their close associates at the time of the Olympic murders in Berlin, the events presented by Mr. Pipes would never have occurred.

It took an act of war, on the scale of the September 11 massacre, to awaken the US. Other than Great Britain, the rest of the world appears to have slept through this event as well.

These acts of murder and cowerdice will continue until the countries of Europe (primarily) have the guts to end their role as apologists for those responsible.

This is a problem that cannot be resolved by dealing with al Qaeda and the Taliban alone. Iran, Iraq, Syria, Saudi Arabia, Islamic Jihad, Hamas, PLO, Hezbollah, etc. etc. etc. are cut from the same cloth and must be eliminated as a group if the war is to be won.
