Arlington Memorial Ceremony

Pete,

My name is Bob Hansen, brother of FC3 Bill Hansen who was a casualty onboard STARK. Based on your description, you most likely knew him as well. I have just returned from the 20 year memorial service at Arlington. It was beautiful. The original chaplain (Capt. Perry) from Mayport was there (as he is at all Stark rememberance services) and he captured all the memories I have from those days. The weather was beautiful. Light clouds with a warm sun shining on the families that were there. Steve Erwin's parents, Ciletta's mom and Chris D'Angelis's parents were there along with my parents. A Rear Admiral read the names of those that were killed and he had to pause several times because he was choked up. A Chief rang a silver bell each time a name was read. A beautiful wreath was placed at the graves of your shipmates buried there.

I just thought you would like to know that the memory of my brother and your friends will not be forgotten. Even though it was 20 years ago, it seems like yesterday. Take care.
