As someone who (although a Christian) has lived and worked in two Muslim countries, I have to disagree with the statement that all (or even most) Muslims SUPPORT extremism. I am also a historian of the Nazi period and many Germans (even in the Nazi party) WERE uneasy about some aspects of the regime and actually tried to help. Only a few, maybe, but they still did.
