Jihad in source texts

Reader comment on item: Jihad and the Professors

Submitted by Jon Paul (United Arab Emirates), Nov 5, 2002 at 05:04

For what it's worth, I'm busy reading the Qur'an and the Hadith of Sahi Bukhari.

Thus far (after reading about 25 Surahs and hundreds of Ahadith), I haven't found any use if the term 'Jihad' which doesn't refer to physical struggle or conflict with other persons.

Likewise, thus far I haven't found any use of the term 'Jihad' which refers to an 'inner personal struggle against immorality'.
