Harvard profs whitewash jihadReader comment on item: Jihad and the Professors Submitted by Barry Wood (Germany), Nov 3, 2002 at 15:05 Having just finished my Ph.D. in Islamic art history at Harvard, I know both David Mitten and Roy Mottahedeh personally. Both men are saints who would not hurt a fly. Unfortunately it seems that they are projecting their own personal niceness onto the concept of jihad, which speaks ill of their scholarly objectivity.Thank you, Dr. Pipes, for being a courageous voice of reason in such a hostile arena. Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes. Original writing only, please. Comments are screened and in some cases edited before posting. Reasoned disagreement is welcome but not comments that are scurrilous, off-topic, commercial, disparaging religions, or otherwise inappropriate.
