Reader comment on item: Jihad and the Professors

Submitted by Rebecca Moulds (United States), Apr 28, 2008 at 21:56

The Great Debate concerning the real meaning of jihad has been succinctly stated by Daniel Pipes as "expanding the realm of Islam through armed warfare." Any other interpretation, whether by Harvard graduates or simply the layman, seems superfluous, and is indicative of the political correctness that has wrongly taken hold of the world. It's high time that this word is taken for what it is, not for what one wishes it expresses.
