Abrogating and Arogated Verses of Quran

Reader comment on item: Jihad and the Professors

This is to comment on Ahmado's posting of Nov 9. Quranic ayas 2.106, and 16.10 tells that God changed his instructions with time. The earlier ayas of Quran allowing a defensive war were abrogated by the later ayas of Quran switching to ordering offensive wars on infidels (ayas 8.65, 9.5,9.25,9.28, 9.29, 9.110, 9.123). Of the approx. 80 armed conflicts during prophet's last 10 years all but one ( Battle of Ditch) were offensive. Following his example and instructions, Muslims after him attacked and conquered territory from India to Europe in less than 100 years after declaring holy wars on infidel lands without the slightest provocation . Why the apologists continuously keep repeating that holy wars are defensive only and Islam is a peaceful religion. In this age of information and Internet you cannot put wool over someones eyes for too long.

I recommend excellent books by Anwar Shaikh "Islam , an Arab Imperialism" and "Islam, an Arab National Movement"("faithfreedom.org", library)
