Identity and Reality

Reader comment on item: Jihad and the Professors

Submitted by Steve Saaf (United States), Nov 1, 2002 at 18:14

It is inevitable that a philosophy which demands the erasure of the individual also expects the erasure of reality.

Without the western law of Identity as a standard, anything is maleable and can be morphed by the actors into something other than what it is. I think that "disinformation" is too improper a term, since the domestic Muslim intellectuals have no way of knowing what is true or not. Their standard of reasoning won't allow it, nor will it allow the observation of "facts as they are".

What is more alarming in our own circles, is that this "sublimation" is taking place on the campuses around the country. We are relinquishing the western standards on an almost wholesale basis, and except for a few like yourself, we are likely to have to relearn the classical, i.e., Aristotlean, way of life, and thinking.
